Chef / Kitchen Manager

Hill & Bach Cellars is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our team as we prepare to open our new winery experience in Boerne.

This is a part-time leadership role focused on morning kitchen prep, menu development, inventory, food safety and compliance, and establishing the systems needed for consistent afternoon and evening service. The Chef / Kitchen Manager will oversee and train the Kitchen Associate / Chef and help ensure the kitchen is prepared and organized for daily service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete morning kitchen prep and prepare the kitchen for afternoon and evening service
• Develop and update the menu as needed
• Manage food inventory and ordering
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
• Establish and maintain recipes, portions, and kitchen procedures
• Monitor food quality and consistency
• Create prep lists and help establish an efficient kitchen workflow
• Train and oversee the Kitchen Associate / Chef
• Keep the kitchen organized and properly stocked
• Assist with special events and private functions as needed
• Communicate kitchen, inventory, and operational needs to management
• Pitch in with other kitchen and winery needs as needed

Qualifications

• Previous chef, kitchen management, or supervisory kitchen experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and kitchen sanitation
• Must have or obtain the required food safety certification for the role
• Experience with menu development, inventory, and ordering preferred
• Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Flexible schedule as needed for special events and private functions

Position: Part-Time - Approximately 20 hours/week, with potential to become Full-Time as business grows
Location: Boerne, TX
Schedule: Primarily morning/daytime, with flexibility as needed for special events and private functions
Compensation: $23-$25 hour, depending on experience
