Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Bluebonnet Pediatric Therapy and for Bandera School District. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to patients in various settings. Your role will involve assisting patients in regaining their independence and improving their quality of life through therapeutic activities and exercises.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop treatment plans based on patient needs and goals

- Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills, coordination, and mobility

- Provide guidance and support to patients in adapting to their environment and developing daily living skills

- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions

- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued progress at home

- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients

Experience:

- Previous experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is preferred

- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus

- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, occupational health, and medical terminology is required

Qualifications:

- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant

- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational and time management abilities

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy
