Receiving Specialist
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Receiving Specialist to support day-to-day operations of the receiving function at our manufacturing facility. The Receiving Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of goods, verification of shipments, and proper documentation and storage of received items. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the warehouse inventory and ensuring that all incoming products meet the company's quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Assist with the receiving and unloading of shipments and sign for delivered goods.
- Inspect all incoming deliveries for damage and fraud; Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Inform supervisors and purchasing of any damages, shortages, or inconsistencies in the received shipments.
- Follow-up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues. Report any fraud found.
- Enter data concerning goods received and inventory into the company's database and maintain accurate records of received goods.
- Ensure that received items are placed in the appropriate warehouse location, ensuring efficient space utilization.
- Perform required administrative tasks; prepare all required reports and correspondence.
- Assist in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in Shipping & Receiving areas.
- Assist team members in the Shipping & Receiving and Inventory depts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- One to two years related experience or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office especially Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems. Experience in Epicor Enterprise Software a plus.
- Acute attention to detail, sense of urgency, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Able to work in an environment that requires teamwork and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, bulky objects, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift certification helpful but not required.

The job operates in a warehouse setting and involves frequent interaction with delivery personnel and internal staff. The role may require the use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee must have closed toe, rubber sole shoes to wear anytime they are required to be in the factory. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
