Job Description
EMBROIDERY MACHINE OPERATOR
Part-Time and Full-Time
Potential part-time/full-time candidates would assist in the operation of commercial embroidery machines to embroider names and decorative designs/logos on garments, materials, caps, and jackets. Along with assisting walk-in customers, you would be responsible for performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:      
  • Operate a multi-head embroidery machines
  • Read work orders to determine embellishment type and location/placement of embroidery.
  • Review orders for garment style, sizes, and quantities prior to beginning production.
  • Load embroidery design, correct color, and needle size(s)
  • Observe trace of design and the sewing operation to detect defects in the stitching process.
  • Check for quality stitch outs before removing hoop, trimming, and clipping.
  • Folding, packing, staging, counting, and making accurate notes of finished products.
  • Cleaning, oiling, changing needles, and caring for the machines.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail is a MUST!
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Clear vision seeing straight, color perception and hand-eye coordination are absolutely crucial.
  • Ability to stand 7-8 hours a day, stoop, bend, twist, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to          30 - 35 lbs.
  • Must be reliable, responsible and take direction well.
  • Prior experience in embroidery and/or sewing could be helpful in the process of training.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a work environment that is often noisy and fast paced.
Compensation  of $10hr - $15hr is based on the ability quickly learn and perform trade with minimual mistakes.
