Position Description: The Hope Center Thrift Store & Boutique is seeking a dependable, friendly, and motivated Part-Time Store Employee to join our team. This position supports the daily operations of the thrift store by assisting customers, processing donations, organizing merchandise, and helping maintain a welcoming and clean shopping environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys serving others, works well with a team, and supports the mission and values of The Hope Center.

Key Responsibilities:

 

-Store Operations:

  • Assist with daily thrift store operations, including opening and closing tasks.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for customers and donors.

  • Operate the cash register and assist with basic cash handling procedures.

  • Support donation intake and sorting procedures.

  • Assist with stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise on the sales floor.

 

- Customer Service: 

  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service to shoppers, donors, and visitors.

  • Answer customer questions and assist with locating items.

  • Help create a positive shopping experience that reflects the mission and values of The Hope Center.

  • Address concerns or issues respectfully and professionally.

 

- Merchandise & Inventory Support: 

  • Help process incoming donations and prepare items for the sales floor.

  • Assist with pricing merchandise according to store guidelines.

  • Monitor inventory levels and help keep displays neat and appealing.

  • Assist with minimizing waste and maintaining efficient merchandise flow.

 

- Meetings & Ministry Support: 

  • Attend occasional team meetings and staff gatherings as scheduled.

  • Support the mission, vision, and values of The Hope Center and Riverside Community Church.

  • Demonstrate kindness, compassion, and servant-hearted leadership in daily interactions.

 

- Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Ability to stand, lift, and move merchandise throughout shifts.

  • Retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.

 

- Schedule: 

  • Part-time hours based on store needs

  • Must be available to work at least 2 Saturdays/month

  • Store hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM
