The Benedictine Sisters of Boerne seek a Communications Coordinator. This position, under the supervision of the Prioress and Director of Operations, is responsible for implementing a comprehensive communications plan to advance the mission of the Benedictine Sisters.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal and external communications for the Benedictine Sisters.
  • Generate content for communications to include, but not limited to: printed newsletters, e-newsletters, website, and social media platforms (may include an occasional livestream), announcements, appeal letters, campaigns, events, thank you letters and other donor communications, articles and press releases for local newspaper and other media/venues
  • Coordinate all mailouts both in-house and through external mail house.
  • Data entry, record keeping, reporting, and gift acknowledgments completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee organization’s outsourced IT and Website Management.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member with staff.
  • Report to the Prioress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain participation in Benedictine Communicators’ Group.
  • Willingness to work in a Christian environment and learn and respect Benedictine values and reflect those values in all communications.
  • Occasional nights or weekends may be required. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications preferred (or 3-5 years related work experience).
  • Possess strong organizational, planning, and creative thinking skills.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to edit various content.
  • Proven ability to relate and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Competency in MS Office.
  • Experience with Constant Contact, Panorama (or similar) database programs, Wordpress, and Canva (or similar). Graphic design skills a plus.
  • Experience with Facebook and Instagram platforms and content development.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, problem solve, and work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Exhibit a commitment to the values and mission of the Benedictine Sisters.
  • Must pass a background check.

32-hour work week. $26 per hour. Benefits offered.
