Library Assistant – General Services
Full-time Position
Annual Salary: $39,478.40
 
Responsible for assisting in the management of administrative and circulation services. Duties include collection maintenance, financial processing, patron services, interlibrary loan processing, and special project assistance. 
Essential Duties
  • Assists with circulation and administrative services tasks, compiles and reports circulation and administrative services statistics.
  • Staff and assists with oversight of the circulation service desk; engages regularly with the public. 
  • Assists in directing, training, and recognizing the work of volunteers and circulation services staff.
  • Manages the library's receivables, expenses, and purchase orders accounts; handles daily cash and deposits.
  • Schedules use of library facilities by outside parties; assesses rental fees, instructs on equipment use, and ensures event compatibility.
  • Assists General Services Coordinator in addressing minor building maintenance issues and problem patrons.
  • Processes interlibrary loans and maintains interlibrary loan system.
  • Provides technology assistance as well as reference and reader’s advisory services to library users.
  • Assists with collection maintenance duties, including cataloging and processing.
  • Performs clerical and other staff support duties.
  • Re-shelves materials.
  • Works all service desks assisting library users’, as needed.
  • Serves as essential emergency personnel when required.
  • Adheres to regular and prompt attendance.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school graduation, or its equivalent or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License. Notary Public License, which can be secured upon hiring.
