Worship Technology Coordinator
The Worship Technology Coordinator oversees the worship technology ministry of the St. John Lutheran Church. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and maintaining worship technology throughout church property, including the Sanctuary, Historic Chapel, Family Life Center, Luther Hall, classrooms, and other meeting areas
- Coordinating use of A/V resources for events in those areas by:
- Scheduling A/V operators as necessary, or
- Training qualified members and guests on how to use the equipment, at the discretion of the Worship Technology Coordinator and Executive Pastor
- Serving as the point of contact for equipment and software issues related to worship technology, including troubleshooting during worship services and special events
- Maintaining worship-related software and hardware
- Updating software and drivers
- Coordinating with our IT vendor, Gigahertz, to obtain expert help when needed
- Communicating need for new software and hardware to the Executive Pastor
- Installing new software and hardware
- Coordinating use of A/V resources for events in those areas by:
- Overseeing the Livestream Operators, Sound Engineer, Cameramen, and Slide Operators
- Scheduling and training the Slide Operators
- Coordinating with the Sound Engineer, Livestream Operator, and Cameramen to ensure coverage each Sunday, for holidays, and for occasional services such as weddings, funerals, school programs, Lenten services, etc.
- Serving as a back-up Sound Engineer, Slide Operator, or Livestream Operator when necessary
- Leading the weekly A/V Team meetings to prepare the Pastors and A/V team for Sunday worship and upcoming special services or events
- Assisting Staff as the first point of contact for church- and office-related tech help.
- Troubleshooting problems and, when necessary, communicating those problems to our IT vendor, Gigahertz.
- Create and manage social media profiles and content creation
The Worship Technology Coordinator is a part-time position of approximately 10-15 hours per week, including Sunday mornings 7:30am—12:30pm. Certain seasons of the year (e.g. Holy Week, Christmas week) will require more hours.
