Volunteer Spanish-Speaking Nurse, Dietitian, or Diabetic Educator

We need a compassionate and bilingual (Spanish-English) volunteer to support our mission of providing healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured in Boerne and the surrounding areas. Volunteers will assist in patient education of diabetes management, healthy eating, smoking cessation, and overall healthy lifestyle choices.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Provide education and support to patients with or at the risk for diabetes
Support patients in medication management, glucose monitoring and diet
Provide education to patients to help them stop smoking
 
Qualifications:
Fluent in English and Spanish
Strong communication skills
Nursing, Dietitian, or Diabetic Educator experience
 
Schedule: Flexible: a few hours per week or monthly based on availability
