Referral & Authorization Specialist

Location: Boerne, TX (75% Remote)
Schedule: Part-Time to Full-Time (Up to 30 hours/week)

Trio Rehabilitation & Wellness is seeking a Referral & Authorization Specialist to support patient intake, insurance verification, and prior authorizations for therapy services. This role is primarily remote with occasional in-clinic work.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing physician referrals for accuracy (diagnosis codes, patient demographics, insurance information)

• Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations

• Using insurance portals such as Availity, CGS (Medicare), and others such as BCBS, United, etc.

• Ensuring insurance cards and required documentation are collected

• Communicating with referring offices and insurance companies as needed

• Assisting with insurance and patient accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up
  
  We have part-time AI to support this role. 

Qualifications:

• Experience with medical referrals, authorizations, or insurance verification

• Familiarity with insurance portals (Availity preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Healthcare or therapy clinic experience preferred
