The full-time bistro hostess is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests visiting the bistro. The hostess will greet guests, seat them at their table, and provide them with menus. The hostess will also be responsible for answering questions about the menu and making recommendations to guests.
The hostess must have a strong knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and be able to communicate information to both guests and servers accurately. The hostess will need to maintain a well-organized seating chart to ensure a smooth flow of guests throughout service.
In addition, the hostess will be responsible for managing reservations and properly seating guests in a timely fashion. The hostess should be able to anticipate the needs of guests and provide exceptional service to make their dining experience enjoyable.
The hostess will work closely with the bistro staff to maintain a clean and organized atmosphere, and may be expected to assist with other tasks such as taking orders, packaging to go orders, running food, and processing payments.
The ideal candidate for this position must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be customer service-oriented, and have a positive attitude. Prior hostessing or restaurant experience is preferred.
