Barista & Cafe Team Member

Position Summary

The Café Team Member is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while preparing fresh food and beverages in a clean, efficient, and welcoming café. This role helps create a relaxing space where parents can enjoy quality food and drinks while their children play. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys serving families.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

• Greet every guest with a smile and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and notify management when needed.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return.

Food & Beverage Preparation

• Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, wraps, snacks, and other menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and served promptly.
• Monitor product freshness and rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out).
• Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the day.

Food Safety & Cleanliness

• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and food preparation equipment.
• Keep countertops, dining areas, and beverage stations clean and organized.
• Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning checklists.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and inviting café environment.

Cash Handling

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
• Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
• Balance cash drawer and report discrepancies to management.

Teamwork

• Work closely with playground staff to ensure every family has an exceptional experience.
• Assist with birthday parties, special events, and busy service periods.
• Help wherever needed to support the team and maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
• Passion for providing exceptional hospitality.
• Positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and family entertainment environment.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour plus tips

Schedule- Saturdays mandatory; weekday hours flexible.
