Barista & Café Attendant

A Café Attendant and Barista must exhibit a positive customer service attitude at all times. A comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage menu is essential along with an understanding of daily specials and promotions. Must hold a Food Handlers License. A TABC Certificate is a plus. These staff members make and serve meals and drinks to patrons at the café counter by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare drinks and food, such as sandwiches, salads, espresso drinks using standard formulas

  • Operate necessary food and beverage equipment.

  • Wash and Cut food items for sandwich table

  • Clean and sanitize counters and tables, coffee, tea and soda fountain equipment

  • Prepare and Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers at the counters

  • Prepare bills for food, using cash registers and POS system, and accept payment or make change.

  • Clean, Stock and Restock workstations and display cases

  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas

  • Box or wrap menu items for serving or for takeout.

  • Set up dining areas for meals and clear them following meals.

  • Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages.

  • Balance receipts and payments in cash registers.

  • Inform manager when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly
