Manufacturing Development Technician

 We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Manufacturing Development Technician to support product development, prototyping, and manufacturing operations. This position combines hands-on fabrication with design and engineering support responsibilities.
The ideal candidate enjoys building things, solving problems, and working in a manufacturing environment where responsibilities may range from creating CAD models and welding fixtures to gathering production information and assisting with process improvements.
 
Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Support

  • Assist with CAD modeling, drawings, and design work using Autodesk Fusion 360
  • Create and revise manufacturing drawings and prototype designs
  • Develop welding jigs, fixtures, templates, and manufacturing aids
  • Assist engineering and production teams with new product development
  • Support prototype construction and testing
 
Manufacturing & Fabrication
  • Build prototype frames and components
  • Fabricate, assemble, and test fixtures and jigs
  • Assist with welding, fabrication, machining, and general shop projects
  • Work directly with production personnel to improve manufacturing processes
  • Help identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
 
Documentation & Project Support
  • Collect and organize Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collect and organize Bills of Operations (BOOs)
  • Gather shop-floor data and manufacturing information for new and existing products
  • Assist with maintaining drawings, specifications, and production documentation
  • Support cross-functional projects involving engineering, fabrication, upholstery, finishing, and production departments
  • Perform miscellaneous project work as needed to support manufacturing operations
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar CAD software
  • Experience with CAD, CAM, CNC equipment, drafting, or 3D modeling
  • Fabrication, welding, machining, woodworking, or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working both at a computer and on the factory floor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project priorities
