Sr. Software Engineer

Our software teams create world class solutions that enable retailers to successfully participate in the buying/selling of used electronics. This position envisions innovative and creative ways to communicate with devices: analyzes, designs and develops software enhancements; manages research projects from initial problem through testing while providing strategic management feedback and documentation.

Must be self-driven, motivated to constantly learn new technologies, programming languages, platforms, and frameworks to keep knowledge up to date.

Essential Functions

Research, develop and update software of many types with Windows as the development platform:

1. Open-source packages mostly built with mingw/gcc.
2. Windows WPF applications and class libraries written using MSVS C#/.NET.
3. iOS apps written on Mac using XCode/Swift/OpenGLES shader language/Metal shader language.
4. Android apps written using Android Studio/Kotlin.

Have some familiarity with:

1. Mobile app development.
2. Windows app development.
3. Windows applications communicating with USB or Bluetooth devices.
4. Basics of image processing.
5. Using TCP sockets, both client and server.
6. USB/Bluetooth protocol analysis with Wireshark and/or USB protocol analyzer.
7. Parallel/multithreaded processing.
8. Software architecture best practices.
9. Git version control system.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. BS in computer science, information systems or similar. Prefer additional degree in mathematics and/or physics.
2. 5 years’ experience in similar position.

Supervisory Responsibility  This position does not manage employees of the department and is not responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment  This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
