IT Technician

SUMMARY: The IT Technician is responsible for installs, modifications, & minor repairs to PC’s & mini computers hardware and software systems. Provide technical assistance and training to system users. Provide network support. Monitor information systems to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal & regulatory compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work should be prioritized in the following order:

  • PC/Printer/Network problems that inhibit an employee from carryout his/her daily tasks.
  • Install All Epicor, Office 365, Server updates within 5 days after receiving on all machines.
  • Fix & run any back up that has not run or completed running.
  • Ongoing or new projects are prioritized through supervising manager.

New Project Procedure:

  • All requests need to be submitted in writing.
  • All projects submitted to the IT Dept. will be reviewed before being accepted.
  • Each accepted projected will be logged & prioritized in a job log.
  • This will provide a means of tracking jobs & managing the department workload.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Monitors information systems to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal & regulatory compliance.
  • Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage & retrieval functions.
  • Maintains & test disaster recovery plans.
  • Installs hardware & peripheral components.
  • Loads specific software packages into computer.
  • Responds to user inquires concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and other users problems.
  • Assists users in the use of equipment, and software.
  • Recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems.
  • Assembles & configures network components and associated services.
  • Performs network troubleshooting and upgrades to hardware and software components as required.
  • Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structure, rights, security, software and files services.
  • Responds to users requests concerning their access to network resources.
  • Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security, for new users and networks being accessed.
  • Installs and tests necessary hardware and software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee must have closed toe, rubber sole shoes to wear anytime they are required to be in the factory. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Education/Experience: Education can be formal or on the job. Experience needs to be at least 3 years working in an environment where you gain hands on practical knowledge working with Microsoft Windows Server software, PC’s, Ethernet network and the related hardware and peripherals found in most businesses in the 21st century. Strong understanding and practical experience with using and training on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Server, Networking TCPIP, VoIP phones, NAS devices, PoIP cameras & DVR’s.

A WORKING KNOWLEDGE of:

  • PC hardware
  • Network hardware, printers, scanners, NAS, etc.
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Microsoft OS Windows 10 or higher
  • Microsoft Office
  • VoIP phones/PoIP Cameras DVR
  • Zoom/Teams meetings
