Communications Associate - Part Time (25 hours/week)

Position is responsible for creating and managing distribution of all print publications, electronic newsletters, online social networking and web-based communications for St. Mark Presbyterian Church. This includes the design and maintenance of the church website, monitoring analytics for all online platforms, and recommending changes to increase interactions and improve St. Mark’s reach. The Communications Associate serves in a non-voting capacity on the Communications Committee and is directly accountable to the Pastor as Head of Staff.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of bulletin for worship services and weekly newsletter
  • Preparation of all communications for special events, brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Continual review and maintenance of the church website
  • Maintaining social media sites for postings (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Monitoring analytics for online platforms and providing recommendations to improve them
  • Updating the church marquee, keeping it current
  • Supporting a consistent “brand-image” for St. Mark communications
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Editor
  • Excellent computer skills in graphic design, presentation, and print and online publication programs
  • Resourceful, goal oriented; an accomplished writer, editor and strong communicator
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work cooperatively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
 
Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years relevant experience; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with website and social media platform design and maintenance
  • Experience in marketing communications tools and technology
