WORKSHOP: Value Killers of Business and How to Conquer Them Presented by Texas Business Buyers
One of the hardest parts of my business is to meet the owner who is ready to retire but can’t. Their business just is not worth what they need. Too many owners labor for 5-40 years and yet found themselves stuck in a dead end job rather than a healthy, profitable business. An owner can find themselves trapped in a low value business.
There are a number of things that kill a business’s value.
- Being too dependent on a vendor, employee, or customer
- Messy financial practices
- Declining trends in profit
- Changing industry trends that are missed by the business owner
- Poor cash flow/operating costs to high
Over the years I have met to many owners who have lost significant value and even had to liquidate their businesses as a result of these value killers. Owners can find themselves not being able to retire or losing significant value (in one recent case owner lost $4,000,000 in business value over 3 years). There is hope value killers can be conquered.
I hope you will join us for the next Building Business Value Workshop where we will cover:
- How to start protecting yourself against over dependence on a single vendor, employee or customer
- The one thing that makes the biggest impact on killing the value killers
- How business valuation can serve your organization’s planning and decision making
You will leave with information you can implement in your business.
