Workshop: Getting Better Customers

Join us for an educational workshop featuring Crystal Darby from the UTSA Small Business Development Center, where she will be presenting "Getting Better Customers". 

Every business owner wants customers who are loyal, friendly, not too demanding, and respectful. Plus it's really wonderful when they return for additional products or services and pay on time. Most companies focus on acquiring new customers, which is definitely important. But did you know that acquiring a new customer is anywhere from 5 to 25 times more expensive than retaining an existing one? Increasing customer retention rates by 5% will increase profits by 25% to 95%. And who doesn't want more profit? Learn practical tips to increase the number and quality of your customers and clients (both internal and external) by focusing on your bottom line and shifting your culture to ensure that the best customers increase their loyalty to your company.

Crystal Darby has worked as a Business Advisor at the University of Texas Small Business Development Center (UTSA SBDC) for 12 years. In 2023, she assisted over 230 clients, resulting in 14 new businesses, 16 expansions, 129 new jobs created, and 97 jobs retained. She was instrumental in her clients obtaining nearly $6.5 million in capital. In addition, she conducted eight workshops during the year.  Crystal holds a BS in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin and an MPA from the University of New Orleans. Before coming to the SBDC, Crystal owned her own consulting business.


The event cost is $10 for members and $35 for non-members. Registration fee is non-refundable.
