Small Business Seminar

2011 Small Business Seminar

Take Advantage of Free Expert Consulting Services

Responses to the 2011 Chamber Member Survey are coming in daily. One of the first questions we asked is what are the biggest challenges facing businesses right now.

Many of the responses ask for help confronting a challenging economy, assistance  in making businesses more energy friendly, and support in finding qualified employees.

On October 24, the Chamber is hosting a breakfast with four speakers who will present some great free consultation services for small businesses in Kendall County. The Small Business Seminar begins at 8 a.m. in the Chamber Conference Room at 121 S.

Main Street with a full breakfast, followed by presentations from the Small Business Development Center, the Institute for Economic Development, the International Trade Center and Alamo Workforce Solutions to address our members' specific needs.

Phillip Webb, the Business Advisor assigned to the Kendall County area by the SBDC will discuss SBDC's integrated approach to meet the needs of experienced small business owners as well as individuals interested in starting a business. These services include training and individual, confidential advising - all free of charge. Find out how you can write or update your business plan as well as assessing your finances, finding healthcare, understanding real estate principals and learning the art of  social media marketing.

Andrea Nocito, Energy Business Development Specialist for the Institute for Economic Development will talk about her energy savings solutions program and discuss how  your business can qualify for a free energy assessment.

Alberto Rodriguez-Baez, Senior International Business Consultant for the International Trade Center, will discuss exciting options for expanding your client base. His objective is to help small and medium-sized companies become globally competitive by providing one-on-one consulting, sharing customized research and critical cutting-edge training. Come and find out the details!

Charlie Moke is the Director of Business Services for Alamo Workforce Solutions. He will talk about how his organization can find you the right employee and will also guide you to take advantage of government programs that help you pay employees. He has a great deal of information on how you can make the most of your human resources budget.
