Brand new this year to Boerne’s Hill Country Mile, “Music on the Mile” presents a robust lineup of live local musicians at several venues around downtown for an all-day celebration on May 15 from 3 – 10 p.m. The four venues, all located along Boerne’s historic Hill Country Mile, hosting a full lineup are Black Rifle Coffee Co., Brantley’s Bar, The Old Jail Museum and Tusculum Brewing Co. Admission is free, and restaurants and breweries will be serving their full menus of food and beverages.
Music on the Mile is the brainchild of a group of local musicians, businesses and arts supporters who wanted an annual event to showcase a diverse group of local musical talent while bringing people to Boerne’s beautiful, historic downtown. A family-friendly event, the lineup is a range of country to rock and will even feature covers from the greats such as Elvis and Johnny Cash. The lineup includes Hunter Billingsley, Billy Lister and The Lost Mule Band among many others.
In addition to a great music lineup, Salty & Sweet will be displaying vintage cars, RocNRitas will have margaritas to go, The Old Jail Museum will showcase Old West reenactors, host a food truck, silent auction and kids will love the Birds of Prey show featured as part of the museum’s grand opening celebration.
“Music on the Mile is a great opportunity to showcase Boerne’s amazing musical talent in the jewel of our community, the Hill Country Mile,” said Tommy Mathews, one of the event’s organizers. “We hope that this event not only brings people to Boerne to see these musicians and visit our local merchants; but that it also plants Boerne in their hearts in a special and lasting way. And what is better to do that than with music, food, craft beer and a variety of shopping and activities all within a short stroll of each other.”
