Kendall Co Wild Game Dinner

The Kendall County Wild Game Dinner started as a simple idea and has turned into one of Kendall County’s most well-known traditions. Back in 2011, what began as a conversation about creating a new community event quickly took shape with the help of friends, local support, and a willingness to try something different. From the start, it was clear this was more than just a one-night event. A big part of that early vision—and the reason it’s still going strong today—comes from Beca Short, who helped bring the Wild Game Dinner to life alongside Karen Daly. What started under the Chamber eventually grew into its own 501(c)(3), with a clear focus on supporting local youth through agriculture and education. Over the years, the event has grown, but the heart behind it hasn’t changed. It’s still a casual, community-driven night in Comfort, Texas—full of great food, familiar faces, and a shared purpose. And that purpose has always been simple: It’s for the kids.
