SUMMARY:Workshop: Free Advertising with the NEW Boerne Community Events Calendars
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FREE educational workshop by The City of Boerne Visitor's Center where they will be presenting "Free Advertising with the NEW Boerne Community Event Calendars". This workshop will cover how to submit events to the calendars\, do's and don'ts of submitting these events\, and more!\n\n\n\nAre you in charge of marketing your business events in the Boerne Community? If so\, this will be a valuable workshop for you! The new community calendars are an all-inclusive location for the public to seek information about upcoming events and festivities. They are free marketing resources that local organizations and businesses can take advantage of to target residents and out of town guests.\n\n\n\nBONUS MARKETING: Some events may also be included in other marketing initiatives orchestrated by City departments once they have been submitted to the calendar. \n\n\n\nIf you have an upcoming event that fits the following criteria\, we want it on the calendar!\n\n	Events must be held within the City of Boerne or be of interest to a large segment of the local population.\n	All events must be open to the general public and must have a broad appeal.\n	Extend beyond a traditional customer/visitor experience.\n	Fundraising events will not be included on the Visit Boerne calendar unless they have the potential to draw out-of-town visitors to stay in Boerne. This is at the discretion of the Visit Boerne team. However they may be applicable for the Community Calendar.\n\nOther good things to know:\n\n\n	Approved events may or may not also be promoted by the Boerne Visitors Center via social media\, digital advertising\, state-wide event calendar submissions\, radio\, e-newsletter\, etc.\n	The City of Boerne reserves the right to edit event listings for grammar\, style\, accuracy\, and content.\n	The City of Boerne reserves the right to deny any event.\n	If your event requires a permit from the City of Boerne\, it cannot be added to the calendar until the permit is approved.\n	Events should be submitted no less than 10 days prior to the start date of the event.\n\nExamples of what is allowed:\n\n\n	Retail Events- Trunk show\, dinner\, or special event with appetizers and drinks for shoppers\, entertainment\, swag\, etc. Needs to have extra things beyond normal store hours/experience. (Why are you asking people to leave their house on a Tuesday evening?) Limited to quarterly per submitter/organization.\n	5Ks\, 10Ks Race fundraisers Examples: Flag Run\, Aid the Silent\, Back the Badge\, & Texas Eclipse Ring of Fire Run are examples of appropriate events\n	Religious Outreach events beyond the normal programming within the organization. Must be open to the public. - Examples: Shroud of Turin exhibit at St. Peters\, Boerne Bright at FBC\, A Walk in Bethlehem at St. Helena's\n	Special Food Events- Needs to be more than a meal\, needs to have an entertainment component for people to enjoy (live music\, activities\, silent auction\, etc.). \n\n \n\nExamples of what is not allowed:\n\n\n	Weekly/monthly reoccurring events with little to no variation\n	Anything outside Kendall County\n	Anything that fails to align with the City's mission\, vision\, and values\n\nNotes: We will cover what events are appropriate for each of the new calendars (Visit Boerne & the Boerne Community Calendar).\n\nAttendees will have the opportunity to submit applicable events during the workshop! We will work together\, step by step\, to cover\, what information to include\, photo requirements\, categories & tags\, creating a recurring event\, & acceptance/rejection of events.
