SUMMARY:San Antonio/Bexar Metropolitan Planning Organization Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On March the 5th from 6-8 at the Civic Center\, the City of Boerne/Kendall County Area will host a meeting of the San Antonio-Bexar Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) on whose new Board the Kendall County Area is represented by Council member Jeff Haberstroh. \n\n\n\nThe City of Boerne has\, in cooperation with TXDoT\, submitted a very important mobility project for all of Kendall County for potential federal funding through the MPO. In fact this project was listed at or near the top of the priority lists for both the Boerne City Council and Kendall County Commissioner's Court which were submitted to TXDoT in 2013. The project is a $10m reconstruction of the Scenic Loop/IH 10 intersection which is significantly constrained at most times of the day and is extremely over capacity during peak times for schools and commuter travelers every day.\n\n\n\nPublic input is needed to help the MPO Transportation Policy Board decide which projects should be funded.  This is the first time any project in Kendall County has had a chance to be funded due to the fact the Kendall County Area is now a member of the MPO.\n\n\n\nThe MPO Board will begin reviewing the applications once all the meetings are completed on March 6th and decisions will be made shortly thereafter. The pubic is asked to make plans to attend this important meeting.
